Clients can submit their original material on film, paper, or in the form of semi-processed files that have to be completed prior to formatting and printing.
In this case, Ilte will process all texts, pictures, logotypes and images in an appropriate manner (digitalisation, colour touch-up, photocomposition and page layout).
The digitalised data that is ready for formatting, whether created by ILTE or provided by the Client, is used directly for the preparation of the printing form (direct engraving of rotogravure cylinders and engraving of offset plates with CTP (Computer-to-Plate- laser technology), or more precisely, for the production of the photographic films used for the creation of offset and typographic plates by means of a traditional photogravure process.
The workflows that manage the various phases of digital formatting recognise the most widely used formats on the market (PDF, PostScript, EPS, TIFF-IT, etc.)
ILTE has a Creo CTP system, consisting of:
1. a Prinergy workflow system, capable of processing multiple types of input files (these include copydot files in addition to those already listed), organise them in an imposition scheme, create digital proofs for verification purposes and send data on-the-fly to the laser writing systems.
2. two laser engraving and plate development lines with autoloaders.
ILTE’s CTP system allows Clients to gain remote access (via Internet) to a low-resolution preview of the pages that are to be engraved on the plates. This enables us to speed up the final setup or “ready-to-print” stage.
ILTE has a high-speed FTP site, which leads to noticeable improvements in the logistics of digital data transfer, especially for last-minute corrections. |
